47.52 reading from the dictionary

It's funny, how those quirky little family activities emerge.

I am not sure how it came to be, but the kids favourite bedtime book is usually the dictionary.

They have this routine with their dad. He chooses a word and chooses a kid to try to explain what that word means. The kid then does their best explanation... often surprisingly apt, sometimes wildly off base.

The latest evolution of this game (especially when the two boys are involved) is that, somehow, whether right or wrong, the child then gets a 'punch in the guts' (another quirky in-house phrase) where Mark wrestles the child while they scream hysterically.

It's really soothing and calming for bedtime (ha) but, somehow I think the memories of this crazy little night time ritual will be worth it.

He is such a fun dad. I love him for that xx
